I am willing to serve on the board of directors, management board or a similar executive-level position in any non-governmental organization (NGO) — entirely voluntary: no salary and no payment of any kind.
Non-governmental organizations do work that the market and the state often pass by — with small teams, tight budgets and great responsibility. That is exactly the environment where leadership and technology experience carry the most value. So I offer mine — free of charge.
What this means in practice: taking part in the governing body's meetings and decisions, oversight and advice on everything technological, help with strategy, budgeting and vendor selection, and bringing good practice from the corporate world — with the organization owing nothing in return.
